【摘要】:Thistestmethodmeasurestheforceperpendiculartotheplaneofthepaperrequiredtotearmultiplesheetsofpaperthroughaspecifieddistanceafterthetearhasbeenstarted,usinganElmendorf-typetearingtester.Themeasuredresultscanbeusedtocalculatetheapproximatetearingresistanceofasinglesheet.Inthecaseoftearingasinglesheetofpaper,thetearingresistanceismeasureddirectly.Note1-SimilarproceduresformakingElmendorf-typetearmeasurementsarefoundinISO1974andTAPPIT414.Thistestmethodisnotsuitablefordeterminingthecross-directionaltearingresistanceofhighlydirectionalboardsandpapers.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
