【摘要】:Somefueldilutionoftheengineoilmaytakeplaceduringnormaloperation.However,excessivefueldilutionisofconcernintermsofpossibleperformanceproblems.Thismethodprovidesameanstodeterminethemagnitudeofthefueldilution,providingtheuserwiththeabilitytopredictperformanceandtotakeappropriateaction.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheuseofgaschromatographytodeterminetheamountofdieselfuelinusedenginelubricatingoil.ThistestislimitedtoSAE30oil.Thedieselfueldiluentisanalyzedatconventrationsupto12mass%.Note18212;Thistestmethodmaybeapplicabletohigherviscositygradeoils.However,suchoilswerenotincludedintheprogramusedtodeveloptheprecisionstatement.1.2Thistestmethodislimitedtogaschromatographsequippedwithflameionizationdetectorsandtemperatureprogrammableovens.Note28212;Theuseofotherdetectorsandinstrumentationhasbeenreported.However,theprecisionstatementappliesonlywhentheinstrumentationspecifiedisemployed.1.3ThereissomeoverlapoftheboilingrangesofdieselfuelandSAE30engineoils.Moreover,theboilingrangeofSAE30oilsfromvarioussourcescanvaryappreciably.Asaresult,thecalibrationcanbealteredbyasmuchas2%,intermsoffueldilution.Whentestingunknownormixedbrandsofusedengineoil,itshouldberealizedthattheprecisionofthemethodmaybepoorerthantheprecisionobtainedwhencalibratingwithanewoilrepresentativeoftheusedoilbeingtested.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsareforinformationonly.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
